Then this alternative might just what you are looking for.ย Petite, chocolate, spongey cake that’s not sickly sweet, yet mixed with ice-cream or a dollop of fresh cream and you’ve got yourself something special.
If you’ve either forgotten, or haven’t prepared anything for Valentine’s Day today, or you feel like indulging in a little pampering for one, then I’ve got you covered with this recipe.ย You only need a handful of ingredients, a mug or ramekin, 6-7 minutes and you’re done!
Chocolate Mug Cake
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons plain flour
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons dutch chocolate cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon canola / vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Icing sugar, ice-cream to serve
Instructions

Combine all ingredients into a jug or small mixing bowl.

Using a fork, mix all the ingredients together until combined.

Pour into a mug or ramekin that holds 250ml / 1 cup.

Microwave for 45 seconds.

Remove from microwave and allow to rest/cool for 5 minutes.

Serve with icing sugar dusted, ice-cream or cream.
