Creamy Bacon Sauce with Fettuccine – this decadent Creamy Bacon Sauce is something I’ve been looking forward to all day. It’s such a versatile sauce that goes with so many different dishes. Scallops, Gnocchi, Pasta, Steak, it even does a good job as a dipping sauce for the ol’ potato wedge…mmmmm, I’m already salivating!
Tonight I wasn’t really in the mood to cook a big meal, yet I wanted something warm, super quick, easy and oh so naughty. Those glossy ribbons of fettuccine covered in silky cream. The taste of parmesan and bacon working effortless together…yum. Doesn’t bacon make everything better?
This is the perfect ‘get it on the table in under 15 minutes’ meal, that ticks a lot of boxes. If only, it took as long to eat it….gulp…slurp, slurp…gone!
Just as well I have some leftover for tomorrow.
Creamy Bacon Sauce with Fettuccine
Ingredients
- 6 slices middle rasher bacon
- 1/2 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
- 250 grams fettuccine
Instructions
-
Cut the bacon into small pieces. About the size of your thumbnail is a good measure.
-
Pre-heat a large frypan over a medium - high heat.
-
Add the bacon and cook until starting to brown. Remove the bacon and set aside on another plate.
-
Using the same pan that you cooked the bacon in, add the cream, butter and parmesan cheese. Stir until the butter and cheese have melted. Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer for 8 minutes or until the sauce has reduced a little, stirring occasionally.
-
Remove the pan from the heat and add the bacon. Stir until combined.
-
Prepare Fettuccine as per packet instructions.
Recipe Notes
If you don't have a non-stick pan, simply add a teaspoon of oil to the pan.
Sauce lurve…
