In this post I’m going to share with you my easy peasy method to cooking the perfect hard boiled eggs. It’s so easy even the kids can do it, with adult supervision of course.
After countless failed attempts to cook the perfect hard boiled egg, I stumbled upon this method a number of years ago, (can’t remember where or which recipe site it was on), but I haven’t strayed from it since. It should also be noted, that I’ve not had a fail using this method either, so I’m more than happy to share it with you all.
For my recipe I’m only making two hard boiled eggs as that was the requirement for breakfast the day I did this, but this also works if you are cooking in bulk and doing up to 12 eggs. See the recipe notes below.
Easy Peasy Hard Boiled Eggs
My easy peasy method to perfect hard boiled eggs, each and every time.
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
Instructions

Place eggs into a saucepan.
Cover with cool tap water by 1 inch.
Bring the water to the boil over a medium to high heat.
When the water has reached boiling, turn the heat off or remove the saucepan from the stove-top.
Let the eggs sit in the water for 12 minutes.
Carefully remove the eggs from the saucepan and place under cool running water. This will stop the cooking process.
Peel and serve.
Recipe Notes
Depending on how many eggs you are hard boiling will depend on the size of the saucepan required.
One thing to note here is that, each egg should have it's own place on the bottom of the saucepan and not be stacked on top of each other.
Allow each egg to have a little 'wiggle' room, rather than being tightly packed in.
