Well the weekend has been and gone and I’ve no idea where it went. Do weeks just speed up at this time of year or, is it that I’ve aged another year and I’m trying to forget? Hmmm… something to ponder!
What We Got Up To
After being holed up over the long weekend due to some miserable rainy weather, we decided to break ours, and the children’s cabin fever with a visit to what is tainted as Brisbane biggest cheese festival.
The Cheese to Please Festival was held on Sunday 30 September in the beautiful surrounds of Newstead House.
Now, not having been to this particular cheese festival before, we weren’t sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised!
When I hear the words, ‘biggest’, I imagine 100 plus tents filled with numerous amounts of people, however as previously mentioned, due to the rain the numbers were down.
At one point of the afternoon I overheard someone say that, they had 4,000 people attend last years event. Whilst this years’ numbers were nowhere near that high, we were very happy not to have to fight to get to the front of the line and battle for a spot to squat.
Even though there may have only been about 20 tents, what was on offer was more than ample. The quality of the cheese and the passion of the presenters and preparers as well as those providing lunches was incredible.
They were all able to advise on their different products, the best way to store, what to eat with it and more importantly, what do drink with it!
Needless to say, that we enjoyed over four hours of tasting, eating, drinking and soaking up the atmosphere with some friends and walked out with a bag full of goodies.
THE BACHELOR AUSTRALIA
This week we all tuned in for the final two episodes of The Bachelor Australia and whilst you are sitting there rolling your eyes, I know you secretly turned on the TV to see who he would choose.
In this case, it was no one. Did you see it coming? So many people didn’t but I kinda did, and what confirmed it for me is when I heard Nick’s sister, Bernadette, provide her review on the two contestants. I recall saying to Coach that I didn’t believe he was going to choose anyone.
Bonus points for me!
Truly though, it wasn’t rocket science and if you really looked at his behavior as mentioned in last weeks’ post, he wasn’t projecting any of his own feelings, or any time that it called for him to speak up, he just met the women’s vulnerability with a kiss.
This was a clear indication that he either; didn’t have ‘those’ type of feelings for them or, he wasn’t as ready as he thought was. But…
Then, on the way to work, I hear that the good ol’ Badger himself has a national book deal and his new book is being released in the next week or two upon conclusion of the show.
Hmmm, the skeptic in me is starting to think that this was a great way for him to raise his public image. What do you think?
OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE
Update on the healthy eating program….hmmm, did you read above, Cheese Festival….nuff said! Will start again next week.
On the blog front, still finishing off my instagram course and have been seriously pondering what the niche is for this blog. I move between all things step-mum, relationships, food, fashion and life in general.
Seriously though, how hard can it be to just pick one topic and run with it! Clearly, for me, near darn impossible.
Anyhow, best run. What’s your week looked like? Have you started anything new? Any thoughts you want to share on The Bachelor Australia? Feel free to leave some comments below.
